May 5th - The Cheeses and Libations of Western France

Join Valérie Henbest from Adelaide’s Smelly Cheese shop, together with A Prayer for the Wild at Heart head chef Stéphane Brizard, as they explore the cheese and accompanying libations of their neighbouring French regions: Normandy and Brittany.

Originally hailing from Normandy, Valérie is a familiar face to the cheese lovers of Adelaide and beyond. Stéphane, meanwhile, made Adelaide home 10 years ago and proudly shares his extensive knowledge of French cookery and culture.

Known for their lush green pastures and maritime climates, Normandy and Brittany have long maintained rich dairy industries – but did you know they are also known for their alcoholic beverages? From the famed ciders and calvados to the dry white wines of Brittany, Valérie and Stephane will take you on a journey, pairing unique and delicious cheeses with some of the more unusual drops of western France. A great way to experience century-old traditions as if you were there!
